Be A Homemaker

Hey everyone. I realized today that with all of the craziness of graduation and moving our homemaker blog has been neglected. I think most of you know about it. http://beahomemaker.blogspot.com/ So I'm just wondering if anyone has anything they'd like to contribute. (Mindy, I hope you don't mind but I put your American Flag on there). If you want to be a contributor I can add you as an author to the blog so that you can sign in and add whatever you want. Just email me or leave a comment and let me know. My mother-in-law and I are going to (hopefully) be doing some crafts in the coming weeks so I'll be taking pictures. And for those who don't know, you can put anything on the blog that has anything to do with being a homemaker...helpful hints, beuty tips, recipes, crafts, projects, decorating tips, how to put together a 72 hour kit, tips on food storage, activity ideas for kids, cooking tips, etc, etc. The list is endless. I'de really like to get it going again. So please, if you have any ideas let me know. Even if its something you did years ago. Thansk everyone!

Silver Lake and the Cheesecake Factory-July 24, 2008

Yesterday for Pioneer Day, we drove up to Silver Lake at Solitude up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Our first stop was lunch at the Silver Fork Restaurant.

Clint and his mom at Silver Fork
This is the first view you get at Silver Lake. Silver Lake is where the very first 24th of July celebration took place, hosted by Brigham Young. The Pioneers arrived here July 23rd with their horses, cattle, wagons, and families. They celebrated with music, singing, dancing and athletic events.
There is a boardwalk that goes around most of the lake. The rest of the trail is just dirt.
A picture of the greenery. It was so beautiful up there.

Morgan just loves being outside in the stroller

Reaching for the camera
After hiking around and enjoying the great outdoors we met our long lost friends in Salt Lake for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Luke and Clint met on their mission and have been friends ever since. The first year we were married we lived in the basement apartment of their house. We've missed them since we moved away and it was so fun to see them again!

Mine and Clint's Chocolate Pecan Turtle Cheesecake
It was so good I could hardly see straight! If you ever go to the Cheesecake Factory, don't go for the food, go for the cheesecake! It's worth every calorie and all 7 dollars!

Only in Utah: a guy kneeling in front of a gas station on the corner of a busy street in Salt Lake City in dress clothes, reading what appears to be a Bible or Book of Mormon, and possibly praying? Only in Utah: the newscaster says "brother Crabtree from the Countryview Ward is with us talking about the float that his Stake made for Pioneer Day." Oh, how we've missed Utah!

Eating The Highchair-July 21, 2008

Morgan refuses to eat baby food, but she doesn't mind eating her highchair. Eventually she hit her nose pretty hard and cried. But it was funny while it lasted.

WOW!

I just posted 7 new posts (after this one). Sorry its so much at once. Thats why blogging everyday is good, you don't have to post a million things at the same time. Needless to say I'm sick of this blog right now so don't expect anything else for a couple of days :) Hope you enjoy the updates!

BBQ With the Webb Family-July 19, 2008

On Saturday last week we had a bbq with some family and friends. We decorated in Red White and Blue just to be patriotic. It was kind of a welcome home party. The first picture is of Clint's grandma and grandpa Webb and nephew, Carson, playing with Morgan.

Hmmm....I dropped my rattle...what should I do....
...maybe if I just reach....
...almost got it...(then the chair almost flipped forward. I think maybe she's getting too big for it

The morning after we arrived in Utah we pulled the Penske around to the back of Clint's parents new house and unloaded all of our stuff to their basement. It will stay there until we come back from Korea.
Taking a break from unloading. Left to Right-Clint, Clint's sister Candace and son Carson, Clint's dad Kent, Clint's grandma Beth, Clint's mom Sharon and Morgan, Clint's uncle Bob
Since we've been here Morgan refuses to eat baby food. All she wants is a bottle. Maybe it comforts her in these times of change? Who knows. But I find myself getting frustrated about it.
We got Clint's dad a smoker/bbq grill for his birthday. This is the boys putting it together
Sharon and Kent-I didn't realize his eyes were closed.

Our Drive to Utah-July 15-17, 2008

On Tuesday July 15th we left Fort Rucker. We drove 14 hours to Clint's sister's house in Springfield, Missouri. The drive wasn't too bad except for how tired we were. This is a picture of all 4 of us in the truck. If you look close you can see Nobi on the floor below my feet.
This was Morgan the whole time. Happy and smiling! She was so good we couldn't believe it
Poor Nobi tried so hard to get comfortable. He was mostly under the seat with his head sticking out. At one point he was right under my feet with all 4 legs in the air.
Nobi trying to catch some cool air from the vent
Seriously, Morgan was such an angel. She cried maybe twice and it was toward the end of our trip. We sure are blessed to have such a good baby
We got to Kristen's house at 3:30 in the morning. Poor Clint was exhausted from driving. Kristen has a little Chiwawa named Tika. Nobi loved her, though Tika was a little unsure of him.
Tika did love Morgan though. She loved having someone her own size to play with, and so did Morgan.
We got up around 8 and played some Guitar Hero for a bit. Then we went to lunch at a place called Rib Crib. It was the best BBQ I've had in a long time.
Kristen and her husband, Clint. Thanks guys for letting us stay with you. It was good to see you!
The Great Platte River Road Archway Monument in Nebraska. This was about half way between Kristen's and Utah, so we were excited.

It took us 23 hours to drive from Kristen's house to Clint's parent's house and we drove it straight through. Clint was so tired and worn out. Morgan got a little fussy the last 3 hours or so, but I think its because it was 8 o'clock and still really light outside. So her body was telling her it wasn't time to go to sleep yet. We got to our destination at 10:30 pm. It was so good to finally be home!

Moving-July 14, 2008

On Monday, July 14 we loaded our Penske truck with stuff going to Utah for storage with help from our very dear friends. We thought everthing was ready to go and that we would be done by 3 for the inspection...not so. The people at Penske had our reservation wrong and the truck wasn't ready for us, then as the boys loaded the truck I found about a million things that still needed to be packed into a box. Then the cleaning still had to be done. If it weren't for such wonderful friends we never would have gotten it done that day. We finished by 4 and they came back to do our inspection. Thanks everyone who helped that day and in the previous days!
