Note

Last night Morgan was crying and I noticed she has 2 molars that have poked through on the bottom of her mouth. Then when I was brushing her teeth I saw that she has 2 on the top also. That explains the salivating dog saliva she's been producing for the last couple of days.

Kid's Cafe

On Friday last week I went with some friends to the Kid's Cafe. We thought it was going to be a restaurant with some kind of playground for kids. Turned out to be a little corner of a department store where you could drop your kids off while you shop. You could order coffee and cocoa and fruit and bagels and waffles and such. So we let the kids play for a while and we ate some snacks.
The girl next to Morgan is her friend Elaine. The cutest, sweetest little girl I've ever met!

A couple days ago I hear this clunk, clunk, clunk noise coming from the hallway. I turned around and saw this...

Morgan's 1 year Pictures-Taken January 17, 2009

These pictures are scans of the originals, so they aren't the best quality. Actually, they aren't that great of quality as prints either, but our options for photographers are very limited here. This was the best we could find and the price was right. We weren't planning on doing a family picture that day cause Clint had just work 20 some odd hours, but we had them take a few shots and the first picture is the best we got.

A lady at church calls Morgan a one-toothed witch. Her other top teeth are in now, so it doesn't look quite as bad, but the one is still a little bigger than the rest. Poor kid!
This is her Christmas dress. We didn't have a bow to match and I completely forgot to find one the previous week. The photographer just happened to have this one on hand. I'm not a fan of huge bows, so I think it looks silly. It was way too heavy for her hair to hold.

Let Me Take You On A Walk Through the Land of the Morning Calm...

On Monday mornings Morgan and I walk to K-16 for playgroup. I decided to take pictures of our walk today so you all could see what Korea looks like (the non-tourist parts). I didn't take any pictures of K-16 because I'm still a little nervous about posting pictures of it online. North Korea's nukes are a little too close for comfort ya know.
So across the street from K-16 you have our Real Estate Agent's office. Its the basement of this house.
Here we have just a typical Korean street with a typical Korean man standing in the middle of it just lookin' around.
The beautiful flowing river.
This is a strip of shops and restaraunts. This is were Inka's is. The restaraunt we ate at my first week here.

The public exercise equipment.
Long stretch of sidewalk along the busy street.
A Christian church.
Hay-wrapped trees. Don't ask, cause I don't know.
This tent lookin thing is where a lady is usually out cooking and selling food.
You can't tell very well, but this road is lined with green houses full of the most beautiful green plants and colorful flowers. They smell so good, this is my favorite part of the walk.
Looking up into our part of the village.
Our house.
Our mailbox and security camera.
The pretty little blossoming tree next to our stairs. I'm so excited for spring!
And the stairs, home sweet home.
From our front porch, looking to the right. These are all the green houses I mentioned.
And looking to the left.
Dear Gramma Lanny-I got yur Eester box tuday. I luv my litel treets and LUV the cow! I playd with it all niht long and eeven tuk it to bed with me! A Few Pictures From Last Week

3-17-09 Playing in the cupboards, a daily occurance. Funny thing is, she hasn't figured out how to get out and boy does she get angry!
3-19-09 Watching The Wiggles while mom tries to get the house clean.
Mom, here's a picture of her Alaska T-shirt thats 3 sizes too big ;) I could NOT get her to take her eyes off The Wiggles for a picture.
3-21-09 My aunt posted a picture of my baby cousin on her blog with 2 little pig tails. I thought it was so cute I had to try it out on Morgan. It was rough getting them in, and they were very uneven, but very cute! She's wearing size 18 months now and with this hairdo I'm beginning to realize I have a toddler on my hands. They grow up way too fast!
3-22-09 Today after church I was trying oh so hard to take a little nap on the couch. Morgan was walking around the house assisted by a laundry basket full of clean laundry and suddenly got really quiet. Usually not a good thing. I found her sitting in the basket in the corner of the living room just minding her own business. She's only been climbing for a few weeks now and she thinks she's pretty cool when she does it.
3-19-09 Morgan playing in Clint's suitcase while he unpacked. He got home last Thursday! Hooray!

SURPRISE!!!

Clint came home Friday night and surprised (scared) me. He was able to spend Friday night, Saturday, and most of Sunday with us. It was great. We went to the COEX Mall on Saturday night for a little family time. The COEX is a gigantic mall and I'm sure we didn't even see half of it. They have an aquarium that we'll hopefully go to some day soon. Anyway, we found this "Italian" restruant in the mall and decided to eat there. Clint's Fetuccini came with whole shrimp. Eyes, legs and all! It was disgusting!
Morgan loves being out and about. She gets so much attention its rediculous. Here she is just being goofy.

Here's a picture of me Steph. LOL, hope you like :)

Cute little bench/garden area in the middle of the mall. She really looks like a boy in this picture. She loved all the Koreans stopping to look at her.
And guess what we found for dessert! Yep, Red Mango! YUMMY!!! Only downfall was that they're stingy on portions here. Ha, maybe thats why Koreans are so skinny.

Daddy teasing Morgan with frozen yogurt. She was acting so hyper it was hilarious, but I didn't get it on camera :(

Morgan has been kind of sick this weekend so Clint stayed home from church with her on Sunday. I found this video of him feeding her lunch. Its kind of long. But it makes me laugh to see how differently a dad does things.

March 15, 2009

I realized yesterday that I wrote down or blogged about every single thing that happened while I was pregnant with Morgan. I haven't been good at documenting this pregnancy, so I'm going to start trying a little harder. I used to think that because I'm young and healthy, that every pregnancy would be exactly the same. But this one has been so different from day 1 (or whatever day it was I realized I was pregnant).

At 13 weeks:
I haven't thrown up at all and the nausea has been completely gone for about 2 weeks now, which is so great.
I feel the baby moving. I thought I was crazy at first cause I started feeling it at 12 weeks, but only when I was sitting down. Now I feel it when I'm sitting, standing, laying down, and I know for sure thats what I'm feeling. I love it!
I am getting my energy back and the house is looking a little cleaner. I have been so exhausted up until this week.
I have the CRAZIEST dreams. They are so random and they make no sense...for example, swinging from the Golden Gate Bridge by bungie cables and worrying that my Book of Mormon (which I'm holding with my feet) is going to fall into the ocean. I have no idea where this stuff comes from!
I hardly sleep at all, but I'm not sure if thats the pregnancy cause I've been having issues since arriving in Korea. I think it might be because of the loud unnatural noises I hear all night. Trucks, dogs barking, cats growling, people working in their green houses right across the street, horns honking. This country never slows down.
I'm addicted to Lucky Charms and disgusted by most Korean food.
I get heartburn just thinking about food.
I feel like I'm showing already, but really I've just put on a few layers of fat because I haven't been exercising the way I should. I'm getting better at being active though, now that my energy is up.

Oh, Steph and Mindy, I'm going to find you statues and mail them to you! They must sell small ones SOMEWHERE in this country! Or, you could come visit me and we could go to the museum that is dedicated soley to everything phallus ;)

Catching up and the Museum

This is what happens every time I turn my back on Morgan for a split second. The place mats and towels are out of their drawers, her socks are off, and her hair elastic has been ripped out of her hair. Silly kid.
Trying on Japanese hats at the PX.
Yesterday (Friday) we went to the Korean Folk Museum with some ladies from church. This is a picture of the national palace that is next to the museum. We didn't have time to take the tour, plus it was pouring down rain. While we were in the museum Morgan made it a point to wave and say hi to every single person she saw. It was pretty funny.
This is the Children's section of the museum. The only place you could take pictures. Morgan and her friend, Henry, wondering what the ball pit is all about.
Morgan wasn't so sure about it at first. It was pretty deep.
But then she realized it wasn't so bad.
This is one of those things where you turn the wheel and make yourself throw up. Morgan loved it. Of course the Korean ladies were taking pictures of Morgan obsessively.
The kids had to have their shoes off while they were playing in the museum and the Korean ladies were taking pictures of Morgan's shoes sitting on the ground. It was a little ridiculous. We couldn't hardly walk anywhere without a Korean taking a picture of one of our kids.
The Queen's chair.
Playing the drums with Henry.
Climbing on the chairs.
Another obsessive Korean.
The outside of the Korean Folk Museum.
This is a fertility statue. Yes, his hat is supposed to look exactly like what it looks like. You're supposed to rub it and become fertile.
This is just a random video of Morgan playing with bubbles.
