Gag Me-April 30, 2008

Congratulations to Morgan for having her first massive blowout diaper! (don't worry, no pictures) I recently started giving Morgan one bottle of formula a day in preparation to wein her off breast milk. Formula stinks, formula spit up stinks, and formula diapers are just out of control! There are no words! I'm sitting on the couch minding my own business, but I can smell formula, which doesn't make sense because Morgan had just had a bottle of breast milk. So I start looking for spit up but can't find any. So I sniffed her bottom...yep it smelled like formula. So I lay her down to change her and the stuff goes all the way up her back TO HER ARMS!!! Holy cow! GROSS! So then I get the diaper off and... (just thinking about it is making me sick)... it smelled so bad I was gagging and had to leave the room for a minute to gain some composure! I've obviously never dealt with a blowout like that because it ended up all over me too as well as her changing table, which made the dry heavs come harder and stronger. I ended up hosing her down in the bathtub and washing my hands about 3 times. WOW! I gotta go get in the shower. I still smell it but I'm not sure where its coming from (gag).

Our growing boy-April 26, 2008

As requested by my mother, here are pictures of Nobi. He's gotten huge!
This first picture was taken December 6, the day we got him.
This one was taken February 15th, 4 months old.
This one was taken today. Clint says he looks like the stupid hyena on the Lion King. He's 6 and a half months old now.

BAD DOG!-April 16, 2008

This is a cedar chest my dad bought for me when I turned 16. Isn't it pretty. It is one of a very few precious belongings that I have. I truly do cherish it.

Okay, bare with me for a minute. I want to build up to this next part. While I was in Utah I told Clint that I actually MISSED Nobi (our 6 month old puppy). Which is really wierd cause I wasn't too fond of him when I left Alabama. Too much energy for a new mom. Always under my feet. Having accidents on the carpet, as if diapers aren't enough! So, in Utah I really did miss the little bugger, but Clint kept telling me I was going to HATE Nobi when I got home. I INSISTED that I wouldn't hate him anymore. And he said "okay, just remember how much you missed him when you get home". I didn't really think anything else of it after that conversation. Well, today I am making the bed. I bend down to pick up a pillow off the floor and this is what I see...

Oh, BAD BAD BAD dog!!! Okay, I love my husband (bless his heart...as they would say in the south). But I told him time and time again "you can't let the dog be out of his kennel when you aren't home". But my dear sweet husband just knew that Nobi was ready to take on the responsibility of roaming around all alone in our empty house. "Okay," I told him, "but keep our bedroom door closed cause you know he'll be up on our bed". He forgot one day. I'm sad :( But I'm trying to remember how much I missed Nobi while I was gone. I only have one question though...when was Clint going to TELL me about it?

I'm home-April 15, 2008

So for anyone who cares, I made it back to Alabama safe and sound. Morgan was wonderful on both planes. She slept almost the entire time and the only time she cried was when I took her bottle out of her mouth to burp her. She did great on the 4 hour drive from the airport to our house too. Love that little girl. She had a hard time going to sleep our first night home, so when Clint got home from school early (1130 pm) he got to see her because she was still wide awake and as happy as can be. After he played with her for a few minutes I put her down in her crib and of course she went right to sleep. I guess she just really wanted to see her daddy. She knew she was home and wanted to wait up for him. It was funny cause at one point while I was trying to rock her to sleep I actually fell asleep. When I opened my eyes and looked down at her she was staring at my, wide eyes and a huge grin on her face. She thought it was hilarious that she was up way past her bed time and mommy couldn't keep her eyes open.

Morgan is 4 Months!-April 8, 2008

Morgan turned 4 months old on April 9th. The day before I started feeding her that rice cereal because after eating 6 oz every 3-4 hours she still acts like she's starving. Here's a picture of her first time. She looks so grown up in a high chair. She didn't do too well the first couple of times, but now she talks to the spoon and opens her mouth when she sees it coming. She keeps most of it in her mouth. She went to the doctor on April 11 for her shots. She was 13.5 pounds (only 2 pounds heavier than at 2 months old and 50th percentile) and 24.5 inches long (only 1 inch longer than 2 months old 65th percentile). She ended up in the 83rd percentile for her head. (I think she's taking after her dad, but don't tell him I said that ). That morning before her appointment she rolled over for the first time. She went from her stomach to her back, but only did it once and hasn't done it since. She sure tries though. Her newest favorite thing is spitting. Its like she's blowing rasperries but in the air. I can't keep her clothes dry. She chews on everything, especially her hands and bibs. She's been reaching out for objects in front of her for a long time, but now she's actually grabbing them. She picked up her pacifier yesterday and tried to get it in her mouth. It was amazing. She really is the coolest kid ever. I think her dad is going to die when he sees how different she is.

4 Generations-April 6, 2008

I'm a little late on uploading this picture. This is my Grandpa, dad, and then me and Morgan. The first 4 generation picture taken. Hopefully Clint will be able to come out here and we'll get some with his grandparents too. I love generation pictures. I hadn't seen my grandpa since I graduated high school in '03, so it was fun to see him and catch up.

Hooray for Blogging!-April 13, 2008

So I finally figured out 2 new things. How to put music on my blog and how to put cool templates on. I'm so proud of myself! I'm pretty slow when it comes to this kind of stuff. So I hope you all enjoy our new and improved blog! I'm sure I'll be changing it and making it better now that I'm a little more blog savvy. If you want cool backgrounds go to LeeLouBlogs on my Family and Friends list. If you know of any other good sites let me know. This is going to get addicting all over again! Oh, and I just have to say that I LOVE Michael Buble! Thanks Rebecca, for introducing us, you're truly a wonderful friend :)

SO...ITS OFFICIAL-April 8, 2008

We've made a decision. Morgan and I are coming home April 15th. I'm sad to leave my family after just 5 short weeks of visiting (actually it feels like its been 2 months already), but so excited to be home with Clint and with all my stuff! :) I'll be coming back to Utah in May for Kristen's wedding, but we don't know if Clint will be able to. He should be starting some kind of survival training around that same time, so we'll see what happens. Anyway, I'm really bored, so I thought I would blog about something, but really don't have anything else to say. So ya, I guess thats it.

First Swim-April 4, 2008

Today my mom and I took Morgan and 2 of her cousins (Braydon and Makayla) swimming at an indoor pool in Holladay. Its a really nice place, they have a huge waterslide, a lazy river, a water playground for kids, a hot tub, the works! We had a ton of fun and Morgan LOVED it! We swam for an hour before she started fussing because she was cold, or maybe tired. I'm not sure which. She's such a good baby. We are so blessed to have her.

(Kayla is still a little unsure about the deep water).
