Lampshade-May 30, 2008

Okay, so I know I've already posted a ton today, but one last thing. I get so excited when I do creative/crafty things that I just want to show everyone (even though I usually have to steal the ideas from someone else-thanks Missy). I bought this lamp at Wal Mart and cut pieces of fabric that match Morgan's room to put on it. I just glued them on with fabric glue. Isn't it cute?

Shew Fly Don't Bother Me-May 30, 2008

This fly has been chasing me around my house for about 3 days now. Its gigantic and at first I thought it was a huge bumble bee or a hornet. So I've been ducking and running all over my house for the past few days. This morning I wake up and hear it buzzing somewhere. When I went into the kitchen there it was laying on its back on my stove. It finally died!! Or so I thought. All the sudden the thing starts twitching and buzzing and spinning around on its back! Ya, I jumped AND screamed! I thought it was going to come after me again. When it stopped I put a cup over it and waited about an hour or 2 so I knew it was good and dead. Then I laid a quarter by it so you can see the size of it. I swear this thing must have eaten some radioactive poop or something!

New habits-May 30, 2008

Morgan has 2 new cute little habits. First, she almost always crosses her ankles when she's sitting or laying down. I don't know why thats so funny to me, but I love it.
Second, when you tickle her knees she rubs her forehead and eyes with her hands. It just cracks me up! The funniest part is that she uses the palm of one hand and the back of the other hand.

Laughing-May 27, 2008

It figures that as soon as Clint leaves Morgan starts laughing a TON! Its pretty easy to get her to laugh compared to how it used to be. Here's the only video I've been able to get.

New Dress-May 27, 2008

These pictures were taken Sunday the 25th. I bought this dress for Morgan for the 4th of July, but since it was Memorial Day on Monday I thought it would be appropriate for her to wear it to church. The first picture is the only full shot I got because the little stinkerbell couldn't stop looking down at the dress. She was facinated by it. I love patriotic stuff. The 4th of July is my favorite holiday! I can't wait! I'm considering buying matching patriotic shirts for me and Clint but I'm not so sure he'd go for it.

By the way, the blanket in the background is one made by may very talented friend, Nikki. So adorable!

Bananas?-May 25, 2008

Morgan used to eat rice cereal like it was the best thing in the world. But when I switched from mixing it with breast milk to formula she stopped liking it. I've tried to get her to eat sweet potatoes and she refuses. Today we tried bananas. It was funny.

A Few of My Favorite Things-May 23, 2008

How Morgan knows she wants the pacifier in her mouth, but she just doesn't quite know how to get it in there the right way.
How her tiny hands always seem to find the tags on all of her favorite toys.

How Morgan is finally starting to notice Nobi and how she loves to watch him. He always makes her smile.
Her smile.
Her innocence.
Her fake cry.
Her real cry.
And the way she sleeps.

BUNKO-May 20, 2008

Once a month a bunch of us girls from church and our various friends get together to play Bunko. We all eat dinner together (tonight it was pizza and IBC Rootbeer, both favorites of mine) and then play a couple rounds of the game. Its SO MUCH fun (even though we have to miss American Idol). These are some pictures from last night's game. Of course I didn't win any prizes. I never do :( I just don't have magic fingers like Sara does.

The 'Roll Off'. When we have a tie between players we do a roll off to break that tie.

Clint's been gone less than 24 hours and I'm already having a love afair with Edward Cullen. Those of you who don't know who he is...well...I'm just sorry for you. Now that I've started reading 'Twilight' I just can't stop. I started yesterday and I love it. I've already been to the authors webpage. If you know the books then you know they're making a movie. Here's a link to the trailer. I can't wait! It comes out December 12th. Which means I won't be here to see it with all my fellow Ft Rucker Twilight groupies :(

He's Gone-May 18, 2008

Clint is off to 3 weeks of school. I didn't get a picture, but he packed up this week and left about 4:30 this afternoon. It won't really hit me until about Tuesday, then I'll probably be a wreck. For those of you who don't know, we will have absolutely NO contact whatsoever for 3 weeks. He left his cell phone here and there's no writing letters this time. I've vowed to start and finish reading the Twighlight series while he's gone, which will hopefully keep my mind a tiny bit occupied. After this training is over we'll have about 4 weeks left until Clint graduates. And shortly after that we'll be moving. But don't ask, cause we still don't know where we're going :)

Camping at Blue Springs State Park-May 16-17, 2008

On Friday night we went camping with some of our friends. We went to Blue Springs. We had so much fun! We wish we could have stayed 2 nights. Everyone got there at various times on Friday afternoon and we pretty much just hung out around the campfire all night. We cooked dutch oven and tin foil dinners, roasted marshmallows, and ate some junk food. Only one scary story got told :(
Jimmy, Nate, Mindy, Paysen, Katie, Nikki, Porter, and Missy
Saturday morning we all cooked our various dutch oven breakfasts. It turned out really good! Jason & Ambria, Clint & Morgan mezmorized by the fire.
Saturday after breakfast we headed to the springs. Notice I didn't say "hot" springs. The water is 68 degrees all year round, which is NOT warm in the summer. Everyone but me and Missy got in. She's 9 months pregnant, I don't have a good excuse.
Nick, Stace, Clint & Katie, Nate & Mindy, Curtis & Rusty, Caleb, Katie & Ryan, JimmyAfter freezing in the springs we hit the volleyball court. They're all looking up but I don't see a ball? Ryan, Clint, Nikki, Nate, Curtis, Braydon, Rusty, and Caleb
Some of us had to quite the game early and sit in the shade cause we burn too easily. Including me.
Morgan & me, Shelly, Paysen, Mindy, and Kristin
Morgan did a lot better camping than I thought she would. She woke up about 4 times during the night, but only because she was getting cold, or maybe because Nobi barked a few times, I'm not sure which. Lots of us brought dogs. I think there was a total of 6 dogs and about 20 people. We had so much fun we can't wait to do it again. Hopefully we can before we move. Here is a video of Nobi. He was so excited to be in the gread outdoors that he just ran back and forth for hours. It was SO funny! He would only stop to smell the bugs or eat a piece of bark every now and then.

An Unwelcome Visitor-May 15, 2008

Clint found this guy in our driveway the other night. Not something I wanted to see. We've never had a problem with snakes out here and this summer our neighbors have found 2 and then this one winds up in our driveway. We've also heard of several Copperhead snakes being found on walking trails on post. Scary. I don't know what kind this is (any ideas Luke?). We didn't know if he was poisonous or not so Clint had to take him to the woods, we don't want Nobi getting bit.

Sorry-May 18, 2008

I had to close my blog to univited readers for a few reasons. I don't think I'll keep it this way forever, but at least for a little while.

Silly Picture-May 13, 2008

No body get mad at me okay! I just HAD to post this picture cause its really hilarious! You might have to blow it up to get the full effect. Katie (on the left) looks drunk, Megan (on the right) looks like she's meditating, and Missy (center) looks...well...I'm not really sure how to describe it...kind of like she wants to get that baby out of her I guess :) I guess thats what happens when you watch an ancient movie like "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", it either leads you to drink, meditate, or go into labor.

This Ones For You Sharon!-May 14, 2008

Clint has been packing for his next phase of school the last couple of days and thought he'd try on a few things in his box of Army gear. These glasses are the ones they issued to him in Basic Training. WOW! So cute!

Something I've Been Thinking About-May 14, 2008

I know its not the 4th of July or anything, I also know that most people don't like to listen to music on other people's blogs, but I really wanted to do something patriotic. When I went to Utah in March I had a heartfelt conversation with Clint's grandpa about military service. The conversation turned to how much a soldier truly sacrifices to serve his/her country (even those who are not or have not been in actual war). Tears came to grandpa's eyes as he told me how unfair it is that so many Americans go about their lives and never think twice about why they enjoy the freedoms they have (yes I am also guilty of this). Soldiers leave their families and homes to live in unfamiliar places outside their comfort zones. Many soldiers are blessed to have their wives and children with them, but they still sacrifice by leaving their parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, homes, nice apartments with a view, and jobs. The thought of being deployed or being sent overseas without spouses and children always weighs on their minds. The future is always uncertain. Where will we go? Will we be together? How long will we be there? How long will we be apart? How will the kids handle it? How will I handle it? Are we strong enough? So I feel like I should acknowledge the great men and women who have served and are now serving in the military. Many people have lost loved ones, been wounded, suffered, sacrificed, and fought for what we now call a 'normal' life. Being an Army wife has become part of my everyday life. I try not to think about how far away my family is, how much I miss them, how comfortable I was being in the majority instead of being a minority. Its just the way things are now. And they will be for a while. Even I, being surrounded by military life, forget to appreciate those who serve in the miltary and their families. So I've decided to make an effort to remember them in my prayers and to express my thanks in any way I can. It means so much to us that people pray for us, that when they see us they thank us for what we do (even though it hasn't been much yet), and that grandpa Paul's gratitude is so great that it brings a tear to his eyes. Thanks to everyone in the military and their families, for putting their wants and needs aside to fight for what they believe to be right.

Over Due

So last week on Monday (the 5th) we went to Lake Tholocco with some friends for family home evening. We do FHE almost every Monday with a bunch of couples from church. It started out with 3 couples who don't have kids, now we've expanded to a countless number of couples and some of us do have babies now but we're trying to continue. Its been so great having so many wonderful friends here at Fort Rucker who we have so many things in common with. We've truly been blessed by the friendships we've created here in Alabama. Morgan is holding a marshmallow in her fist. She was pretty facinated with the fire. Just like her dad!
Left to right: Mindy & Nate Salisbury, Clint & me, Jimmy & Missy Isakson (I'm not quite sure where Morgan was).

Nobi and Hailey-May 10, 2008

While we were in Utah Nobi stayed at his girlfriend's house. Our awesome friends, Justin and Kristin Neal, took care of him. Thanks a ton guys. And I'm sorry about your screen and the barking. I stole this picture off their blog cause I thought it was just so funny. They look totally worn out! We owe you guys big time!

Cutie Patootie-May 4, 2008

I LOVE this dress. I think it came from Morgan's great grandma Webb. She looked so adorable in it! She wore it to church yesterday. The hats a little small (thats what happens when your in the 83rd percentile for head circumfrence). What a doll though!

May 3, 2008

There were 3 in the bed and the little one said

ROLL OVER...ROLL OVER...Morgan is finally rolling over consistently. She did it once in April but wouldn't do it again. Then, one day when I was horribly sick, my friend Nikki came over and took Morgan for a couple of hours so I could get some rest. Turns out she rolled over for Nikki and I missed it! Then on May 1st when I put her on her stomach she rolled over immediatly. Since then she's been doing it every time we have tummy time. Clint still hasn't seen it. Hopefully today.

Feet and Toys-April 28, 2008

Morgan playing in her stand up toy thinga magig. She's getting good at grabbing the toys around her.
Morgan finally found her feet. I thought she never would. Now she won't let go of them. When I put shoes on her she gets a death grip on the shoe laces. Its so fun watching her grow and discover new things.
