Our Hail and Farewell

We've been to so many Hail and Farewells since coming to Korea. Every month or 2 the battallion has them to welcome newcomers and say good bye to those leaving. They have to do them often because most people come for only a year or 2. Last night was FINALLY our turn to be farewelled!!!

Killing time...
Captain Guidry giving a speech about Clint and his time in Korea.
Clint saying farewell.
Dave, Clint and Paul. Good friends we will greatly miss.
My first military coin!!! ha ha!! The Battallion commander's wife gave it to me for helping out with Family Readiness Group stuff. I have served as the "baby greeter" giving baby gifts to new babies in the Battallion and as the Alpha Company treasurer.
It was a great night for us. Many mixed emotions. We will really miss our friends here. Its so hard to say goodbye. Aviation is a small world, so hopefully we'll see some of them again. We've had an interesting 2 years in Korea. Many, many lessons have been learned since moving here. Clint's career couldn't have gotten off to a better start and we feel very blessed for that.
We're moving out of our apartment in 3 weeks and staying in a hotel for 10 days. Now that its August, we can finally say we'll be home this month!

I don't have a lot of videos of Jackson so I've been trying to get more. This is 3 videos rolled into one.

Modeling Shoot #10 and #2 Minkmui

Today Morgan had a modeling shoot.

The little boy modeling with her didn't fit in any of the clothes. He was too big. So J got to do his second shoot with Morgan.

I'm SO glad they got to model together before we left the country. The photographer asked me how much longer we'd be in Korea, and when I told him he was disapointed. I think he liked the kids. This is the 4th time Morgan has modeled for this company with this photographer.

The kids were pretty good. I think Morgan is getting sick of modeling. Its picked up so much lately and she's just getting impatient with all the mumbo jumbo. I can't say I'll be disapointed when we're done with it. Its given the kids a good start on their bank accounts, but sometimes I wonder if its worth the money to them.

Yatap Swimming

Look what we found this weekend! Actually, a friend of mine found it, and took us there this weekend. Its SO close to our house! I don't know why we didn't find it last summer :( But we're so happy to have it these last few weeks. No more driving a long distance to go swimming on post.
Sunblock is on and he's ready to go!

The amount of attention my kids (and all American kids) get from Koreans is a little rediculous. I'll be glad when I can go somewhere without my children being mauled by strangers.

Modeling Shoot #9 Dear Baby

Another horrible modeling shoot. Winter clothes in the heat of a humid Korean summer makes for some crabby kids. But I think they got some good pictures anyway.

K-16 Summer Festival

Yesterday was the summer festival here at K-16. In the morning Clint's company played a Softball game. We packed up the kids to get out there and watch.

Morgan tickling J

Unfortunately the rain forced the celebrations inside.

We were eating cake and for some reason J didn't like the texture of it in his hands. So he tried to eat it without hands.
Clint was the only American in the hulla-hoop contest.
He was out pretty fast.
Belly dancers
The rain let up enough for us to play in the bounce houses for about 10 minutes.

Jackson is 10 Months Old!!!!!!

Where on earth does the time go? I can't believe my baby is 10 months old. He is getting so so big. He has been teething the last couple days, so he's been pretty crabby, but he's still a very happy baby. He gets around by scooting on his bum or spinning around on his belly. He loves hair and jewelry. He pulls hair every chance he gets. Even Morgan's dolls get their hair pulled.
I had a hard time getting a picture this month.
He was so facinated with the Winnie the Pooh.
He kept throwing him around with his feet.
I tried holding the bear by the camera and then throwing it down and snapping the picture really quick.
I think this last one is about the best we could get. Even though its blurry.
Jackson's newest games include shaking his head "no" until he almost falls over and putting everything into our mouths. I guess he thinks since he likes to chew on everything then we will like it too. He gets SO excited about food. SOOOO excited. His bottom 2 teeth are close to coming through. Jackson is the type of baby that makes a person want more babies!

A Walk to the Park

On Monday (I think) the kids were up early (story of my life!!) so I decided to take them for a walk. Korea is a very strange country. In some instances it is the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life, but sometimes it looks like this and it makes me sad....yes, this is in our neighborhood.
We took a little break at this park down the street from our house. Its not a great park, mostly just dirt and rocks, but Mo enjoys the slide. She had to "swing like a monkey" everytime she went down the slide.

I was trying to teach her to kick her legs when she swings, but she just started kicking them all crazy-like.
Forgive the quality of these pictures. They are from my cell phone.

I Know Exactly How You Feel Sam!

Sometimes our pets know just how to express the things we can't.

Monkey Man

Sometimes I think evolution might not be such a far fetched theory afterall.
Jackson picks things up with his feet all the time and brings them to his hands.
