December 29, 2010

We arrived back in Texas the afternoon of the 29th. After a very long car ride (24 hours straight to be exact) and very little sleep. Here is a very funny video of Morgan eating dinner.

Moving: Korean Style

Wednesday, August 18th
Some movers came to pick up our military-issued furniture. Its kind of hard to see in the picture, but they are using a crane-type thing. One guy loaded furniture onto it from our house, then the guy in the truck operated the crane (I'm not using the right word) and unloaded the furniture into the truck.
This is how J kept himself entertained while the furniture was being moved. He liked to throw the ball and watch Sammy chase it, then soot over to it and throw it again.

People were right when they said it gets easier when your kids start playing together. These 2 entertain each other a lot lately. Its fun to watch. Turn down your volume though, they're LOUD!!!

A Solution to Too Much TV

We got a kitty this week. His pregnant mother was found tied up in a garbage can. Soon after she was rescued she gave birth to 6 kittens. Can you imagine! Pregnant with 6 babies and tied up to a dumpster!! Where's the humanity? Anyway, we brought Sam home and he and Morgan have quickly become BFF's. Since bringing Sam home Morgan has not been asking for TV quite as often, much to my relief!! Her and Sam chase each other around for the better part of the day.

Videos, Videos, and More Videos

I love taking videos of my kids. I think videos are the best way to capture personality.

So for the last 9 days I've been trying to get Morgan off her pacifier at nap time. Every single day she has screamed and cried and then taken a very short 30-45 minute nap. She hasn't been sleeping through the night. I think because she loses her pacifier and thinks I took it away from her. So a couple nights ago I cut a hole in the tip and when she realized it didn't work anymore she got mad and threw it. But she slept all night long. Last night, after crying for a long time because her pacifier was broken, Morgan and I had a heart to heart and, together, we threw the pacifier away!

I was so proud of her! She went straight to bed after that and slept til 530. Clint had to soothe her back to sleep and then she slept the rest of the morning. It broke my heart to do this to her. She's still my baby girl. But it had to be done. And now it is. I just hope she forgets about it soon. Because the last week has been a nightmare!

I'm not sure who taught who how to scream, but these 2 love to just squeel at each other!

Morgan was watching The Wiggles the other day and J loved the music and bright colors.

Christmas Morning 2009

Thanks to my friend Erin, I finally found a faster way to get videos onto blogger. Since they never seem to work for me anymore. Anyway, Morgan was so cute Christmas morning. She passed out every single present she could carry. Definitely Santa's little helper.

December 16, 2009

These videos are of Morgan opening some Birthday gifts from Clint's family. They uploaded in the wrong order. But they're kinda cute.

In this one she says and signs "please" at the end...

Trouble Maker

Morgan is getting so big. She's such a good helper. She is getting very independent and doin lots of things on her own....Even giving herself a bath....

This morning I gave Jackson a bath. Morgan was "helping" me while snacking on her pretzels at the same time. When I was finished with Jackson I took him to his bedroom to get him lathered up and dressed. When I was done with that I thought, "let's go see how many pretzels Morgan threw in the bathtub." Boy was I surprised when I came around the corner and saw more than just the pretzels in there.

I have a lot of videos of Jackson talking, but this is the only one I can get to load onto blogger. I have others that are better. But owell.

PooPee in the Potee!

Morgan will hate us for this someday, but its so worth it! Like I mentioned before, she's been telling me when her diaper is dirty by grabbing it and saying "ew, poopy". So we've been thinking maybe she's ready to potty train? A friend of mine gave us a potty seat and I started putting her on it every hour on Friday, but she never did anything. Saturday, when we were eating dinner, she kept saying "poopy", so I checked her diaper and it was clean. So Clint thought maybe she was trying to tell us she needed to go and put her on the toilet....the video says the rest...

We didn't actually think she had gone, but when Clint took her off the toilet she had done her business! Of course she got a reward, but is now afraid of the toilet and will not sit on it. We think maybe she's afraid of what she saw in it after her success.

I forgot to blog about Clint's last race. He ran a 10k last Saturday (the 22nd) and came in 6th place overall! Of course Morgan and I tagged along to cheer him on.
Approaching the finish line...
His time...
We went to breakfast afterward and then grocery shopping. Morgan loves to help put things on the belt.
After taking the groceries home we went to a bday party for 2 little twin girls turning 1.
Farrin (16 months) and Morgan (20 months)

On Wednesday, those 2 little twin girls came over to play for a couple of hours. Morgan LOVED having friends in her house. She wanted to show them ever toy she has. But sadly, they were a little intimidated by her.
This is a video of Morgan about 5pm that night. She had only a short nap and was exhausted by the end of the day. It totally cracked me up watching her try so hard to stay awake.

~Upload currently not working...will try again later~

And, last but not least, project number 5 is complete! It took me months to get this quilt finished. Its for the twin bed that is in Morgan's room, even though no one uses it yet. It took me so long because I decided to add another row thinking it wouldn't be wide enough (turned out a little too wide) and then I decided to do flannel on the back, but can't find solid flannel in Korea, so I had to buy it while I was in the states and ship it over. Then I ended up with not enough flannel, and had to have my mom send me more. Phew, I'm glad its done! Onto my next project!

July 6, 2009-Seoul Grand Park Zoo

Monday was still a holiday for Clint, so we decided to go to the Seoul Zoo. We planned on being there 3 hours, and then watching a dolphin show and heading home...we ended up being there for 6 hours and that was rushing it. Clint had to get home to plan a flight, otherwise we probably would have been there even longer. I highly recommend it to anyone in the Seoul area. It was so cheap, less than 20 dollars for the 3 of us and that included a dolphin/seal show. We drove to the subway station and took the subway to the zoo. From the entrance, you take a little tram car to either the zoo or an amusement park.

It was super busy ;) No fun trying to beat these crowds...

I love this picture of the lions. They were trying to stay cool under this lookout structure.
Botanical Gardens
Desert area of the gardens
I'm glad they depicted the desert so accurately :)
The tropical area of the gardens
Like I've said before, Korea definitely does not lack beautiful flowers.

I had never seen an Albino Peacock before. They're very pretty.

I had also never seen a peacock this close before. I was amazed at the color of blue.
Waiting for the dolphin/seal show to start and eating Korean waffles.
Unfortunately my camera doesn't do good far away pictures. But you get the idea.

Morgan loved these guys.

Giant ant eater...in case you don't recognize it.

It started raining at one point and we had to seek shelter under a eating area. It is monsoon season right now, so we kind of expected it. Below is a video of some very animated monkeys. Turn your volume down if you watch it.
