Cake Pops!-November 20, 2012

These pictures aren't great, but they tell the story (kind of).   A friend of mine really wanted to make cake pops for us to reveal the gender.  Well, Clint and I didn't want to wait another second to know, but we made the kids, my brother's family, and all our friends wait until Areli brought over the cake.  Morgan was already tired and cranky when the night got underway.  Then the news of a boy made her even more upest.

"I'm only here for the food"

"When is the baby gonna pop out?"  Ambria thought the party was for the baby popping out of my belly.

Morgan was hesitant.

And extremely bummed when the cake inside was blue instead of pink.

BUT...it was yummy so she kept eating.

I asked her if she was excited to have a brother and she said no.  She's still (3 weeks later) not happy about it.  I admit I was a little bummed at first.  But I'm getting really excited now.  Little boys (at least Jackson) are so cuddly and loving.  And not nearly as emotional and expensive as girls :)  I'd be fine with only having 1 girl forever.  Then she and I can do all the fun girly stuff together!

20 Weeks

We are halfway there! We had an ultrasound yesterday and got some funny pictures. No profile picture though. The baby was so squirmy and wouldn't cooperate. He's measuring 4 days ahead of schedule, but my due date is still the same. April 8. Oh ya, did I mention it's a boy? Yep. He wasn't shy at all and we got a very clear shot of that fact. He's almost a whole pound. Now that we know we're having a boy I'm getting really excited. Morgan will be devastated I'm sure. Once we finally tell her. A friend of ours is making a cake for the kids to reveal the gender to them tonight.

18 Weeks

This pregnancy is dragging! I'm going nuts! And I think my butt has grown more than my belly in the last two weeks LOL. Only 12 more days until we find out if its a Joe or Jane. And only 15 days until my dad gets here for thanksgiving!

Little Rangers

I've been taking Jackson to Morgan's school once a week for Little Rangers. He struggles to hold still, but he loves his class. Today he made a cereal necklace and was so proud of himself!


We work on letters and numbers each week. Today the kids had to poke holes in the lines of the letter N. Jackson was concentrating really hard and did a fantastic job.

Halloween and Clint's Birthday

The kids had a blast on Halloween.  We stayed close to home and trick-or-treated around Morgan's school.

Halloween was also Clint's birthday.  He doesn't care too much for birthday celebrations, so I gave him exactly what he wanted, no big deal.  We ate donuts and apple fritters after trick-or-treating and he opened a few gifts.  I sure love this guy and I'm so blessed to have him by my side.

Cutting The Bills in Half

Okay, so a little update on my attempt to save more money:
I went grocery shopping today. Holy cow! 1 month of food for four people is A LOT!!! You should have seen the looks I got from people with my 10 gallons of milk! I managed to keep it under $500. (Remember we wee spending upwards of $800 a month in groceries). So I was pretty happy. I stocked up on a lot of canned goods that I normally keep on hand; tomato sauce, beans, etc, and also bought a few cleaning supplies. It was overwhelming chopping so much celery and onions and peppers and strawberries. I haven't even baked my bread yet! I spent 4 hours grocery shopping and 2 hours chopping and preparing. So I figure 6 hours of work (plus an hour for bread) and I "made" (saved) $300. I view my role as a wife and SAHM as a job, so everything I do needs to be in an effort to save or make money. i.e. Staying home with the kids saves us on paying for daycare( not to mention the benefit it has on the children). Keeping on a cleaning schedule saves me time and allows me to accomplish other things and spend time with the kids. You get the point. My biggest concern is this no pre-packaged food business. Yes I saved money, but what on earth am I going to send in Clint's and Morgan's lunches everyday? We shall see! I'll keep you posted on how it goes!

Carving Pumpkins

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate carving pumpkins? I hate the smell, the mess, the guts, everything! My kids are lucky they have a dad who doesn't mind doing it with them :)

SPOOKY!!

The kids really don't like the insides either.  They do not like sticking their hands in there and pulling the goo out.  It doesn't help that Clint likes to pull it out and fling it at them and laugh while they squirm and cry "ewwww get it offffff!!!"  But they sure had fun pretending to help.  Next year, maybe we'll pain them!

Monster Dash-October 27, 2012

We woke the kids up early on Saturday to watch Clint run the Monster Mash 10k.  Then, the kids ran a 1/4 mile race of their own.  They each got a finisher's medal.  We were so proud of them, they both ran the entire way without stopping!
