K16 Fall Festival

Yesterday (Saturday) we went to the Fall Festival at K16. Of course Morgan found a pile of dirt as soon as we got there and took her shoes off.

Morgan's best friend Mary (or Marmu as Morgan would say). Morgan absolutely loves Mary. In fact she cried when Mary said goodbye yesterday :( I think she likes Mary more than me!

These guys did some karate type stuff. In this picture he is jumping of the guy's back and then kicking the wood in the other guy's hand.

Overall it was a fun day. They had lots of lame dancing, like Hooters girls. But we had a good time visiting with friends and showing off Jackson. At the festival they opened the new football/soccer/baseball/track field thing. I can't wait to start walking on it every day! If anyone wants to join my walking "club" let me know :)

Pictures of the Week

I am amazed at how easy my recovery has been this time. I'm feeling great and getting out of the house. I have so much more energy this time than I did after Morgan. Don't get me wrong, I'm still pretty tired from waking up every 2-3 hours at night. But Jackson is very different from Morgan. He doesn't have to be held to sleep. Morgan did, so my mom and I were taking turns sleeping in the rocking chair with her. Anyway, Jackson is a very good baby and is already changing. He is very snuggly and sweet and we just love him to death!

This is an orchid plant that our landlords gave us the other day. Isn't it beautiful?

Trying to stay entertained however possible.

Morgan gets away with a lot these days. And I think she's enjoying it.

Morgan Loves Her Baby Brother

On Tuesday Jackson had his 3 day check up. He had lost 13% of his weight already because he is having a hard time nursing. (I may have GREAT labors/deliveries, but nursing is SO HARD for some reason). Anyway, so after his appointment I met with a lactation nurse who helped me with a few things (I am so VERY determined to breastfeed this child!). And Jackson has been eating much better since. We had another appointment this morning and he gained 3 oz. over night. He's also started pooping :) Yay!

Morgan loves looking at the baby. She loves holding him too. She's been great with him so far, she just likes to point to his nose and eyes and mouth, which makes me kind of nervous, but no harm done yet. Except for the shoe she threw at him in the car today. But overall she's very kind to him. She is maybe a little envious of his feeding time with mom. I have seen a change in her, its almost as if she prefers to go to dad now. Which makes me kind of sad, I already miss only giving my attention to 1 baby. Love doesn't divide though, it multiplies and boy do I love these 2 kids!
Having a newborn around makes me realize how "grown up" Morgan really is. I still call her a baby sometimes, but she's not a baby. She has so much personality and is so fun to interact with. She is saying so many new things. She said "outside" today! I was amazed! She's trying to dress/undress herself, put her own shoes on, she talks on her "cell phone", "reads" books more than ever, and is just my little big girl.

My mom gets here tomorrow! I can't wait! Clint and I are both exhausted! Thank heavens he's been able to take so much time off work!

Jackson's Birth Story

Friday, Sept. 11, 2009
9 pm-put Morgan to bed. Kept coughing and waking up so I had to keep checking on her. Intense contractions every time I got out of bed.
11 pm-contractions coming at rest as well.
12 am-began timing contractions. Started out every 4 minutes on the dot, then went down to every 2-3 mintues.
2 am-called the hospital, they said I should come in.
3 am-arrived at hospital after dropping Morgan off at friends house. They checked me out...the first nurse said I was "closed"...so another one checked me and I was actually a 4. They admitted me.
5 am-Finally got my epidural :)
530 am-Dr. broke my water to speed things up. Dialated to 5 and 90% effaced.
6 am-contractions stopped
630 am-Pitocin :(
9 am-9 cm and 100% effaced.
930 am-dilated to 10, started pushing, on first push nurse said "oh, there he is!"
943 am-Jackson Paul Webb born 8 lbs 6 oz. 19 1/2 inches long. Perfect baby. Cried immediately after coming out. Clint cut umbilical cord after the dr. got the amniotic fluid wiped off her face.

After this picture was taken the battery in the camera died and we didn't have our extra one with us. Clint went and bought a disposable, so more pictures will come later.
Morgan spent 2 nights with our friends and then came to the hospital on Sunday because we were supposed to be going home. That didn't happen, so her and Clint went home Sunday night and came back Monday morning. Clint brought the extra camera battery, so we got a few going home pictures. I love his hair. It combs very nicely into a mohawk.

Morgan missed her mommy. And mommy REALLY missed Morgan.

We weren't too impressed with the hospital. We were moved to our recovery room (or should I say corner) and pretty much forgotten about. We shared a room with another postpartum patient. This was all the room we had.

Finally going home! In case you're wondering where the adorable outfit came from, it was Clint's when he was a baby. Jackson got lots of comments on it. Oh, and he didn't like the carseat very much.

Home, sitting in the sun, so that hopefully we won't have to be admitted again for jaundice. Yes, they will admit him for it :(

We aren't sure who he looks like. In this picture, I think he looks a little like his cousin Landon.

Good News?

I went to the dr. today. I'm at "almost" 4 cm and 75% effaced. The baby is in the locked and loaded position. She stripped my membrane (holy painful!) and seemed very confident that I would go into labor within the next 48 hours. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up because I know stripping doesn't work for a lot of women. I've been having contractions since I left the office 6 hours ago, still not consistent enough though.

Won and Bows

A picture of Korean Won for you. They just recently came out with the 50,000 won bill. Which is nice, now our stack of rent money isn't 6 inches thick! The coins are 500, 100, 50, and 10.

A shot of the bow I made for Morgan last night. It was my first attempt, so its not that great, but I'll get better. I just copied it from a bow that a Korean lady gave to her. It cost me a total of 50 cents to make :)
