A Quick Trip to Utah

We found out in July that Clint will soon be deploying again.  Even though he doesn't have orders yet, we figured we should just plan on it happening and take a trip home to Utah.  So we packed up on a Sunday and left on Monday.  We only had a week there, but we had a good time with family.
The drive is so brutally long, but the kids did great (well, the big kids anyway).
The first thing on our agenda was Pioneer Day festivities.  Morgan wanted to wear her hat and boots, just in case she got to meet Miss Rodeo Utah!
Well, she got pretty lucky!  Not only did she meet Miss Rodeo Utah, she also met Miss Rodeo America and made a new friend, Shelby, who was Little Miss Bear River Queen.

Every morning it was the same thing..."Where is Morgan?
Oh, she's out with Comit."
"Does anyone know where Morgan is?  Oh, she's out with Comit."
"Morgan, where are you?  Oh, she's out with Comit."
Being in Utah is Morgan's most favorite thing in the whole world.  She loves her extended family and asks us everyday if we can take them ALL with us when we move so we can all live together.  She dreams of living on a farm and spending her days with horses.
My sister-in-law, Jenny, came up to West Haven to ride horses with us.  She brought Ellie and Kayla.

I think they had a really good time.  Riding horses is every little girls' dream at some point I think.
Family picture while camping in the Uintahs.  Brrrrr.  It was freezing up there!  I don't think my toes ever thawed out until we got home.

The kids had fun on the slip n slide.

Misc. July Pictures

Morgan loves to help in the kitchen.  Pants are never required.
She also loves to feed her baby brother.  She refers to herself as "sissy" when she talks to him.  Sibling love is so precious.  It brings so much joy to my heart.
A few weeks ago I felt like getting Sunday pictures of the kids.  They are just so handsome/pretty on Sundays and I want to remember them like this forever.  Someday I'll be fighting to get them out of bed on Sunday mornings.

Yes, I make my kids match whenever possible.  Because they're too young to care or realize!!
Grayson discovered his hands in July.  At about 3 1/2 months old.  He is now getting good at reaching for things and grabbing them.

Happy Birthday America!!!

We started out our 4th of July festivities at Clint's work on the 3rd.  The Brigade did a 4 mile run in the morning and then his Company fed us breakfast.

Really?  Can we get a decent picture please?
On the morning of the 4th we headed to Belton, bright and early, to get a spot for the parade.  Morgan is waiting patiently for her hand delivered breakfast of McDonald's pancakes.
 More waiting :)

So sleepy.  We were only 3 hours early for the parade.
 Playing monster trucks.

Grayson was such a good boy through all the noise and heat!  Actually we were quite lucky.  It was only about 95 degrees.  It could have been way worse!

Waiting for lunch at our favorite Mexican restaraunt!

Checking out the petting zoo at the festival.

A Few Pictures from June

Morgan and Jackson ran the Race to Read again this year.  Here they are with BFF Bella and their new books!
I'm not sure if I ever mentioned it, but Morgan was selected to be on the dance team at her dance studio.  She has dance 4 days a week all summer long, and has been working very hard.  Here she is stretching during "parent observation week".  She will hopefully have her splits down by the end of summer break :)

Morgan was playing with my camera the other day and this is one of the pictures I found.  She really loves her baby brother.  I have a feeling they're going to be very close.
She really wanted Grayson to take a nap with her the other day.  She even let him snuggle with her precious Twinkle Toes pony.  Unfortunately, he never did fall asleep for her.

Grayson is 3 Months Old!!

Grayson is talking and smiling a lot these days.  He even laughed for us this week!  He is taking naps better during the day now and still sleeping very well at night (in his swing).  He absolutely loves people.  Especially his big brother and sister.  And they love him lots as well.  He is a little ray of sunshine beaming through our home.  He's constantly moving his legs.  And sometimes it looks like he's about to jump up and start running around with the older kids.

Morgan's Last Day of Pre-K

I had the opportunity to go to Morgan's last day of school. They had a fun party and a talent show. Morgan is so excited for Kindergarten! She learned so much this year. I was so hesitant to send her to Pre-k but I am sure glad I did. Despite a few issues, she had a wonderful year. She can read now and do a little bit of adding and subtracting.

Just a Few Pictures

I love this little snuggle bug!

He's so happy (most of the day).

Morgan loves her baby brother and wants to help as often as she can (unless he's crying, then she covers her ears and runs away).

Jackson is little Mr Mom! He loves to help too and soothes Grayson whenever he's crying.

Grayson is becoming quite fond of his siblings. He lights up at the sound of their voices.

2 Months Old

Grayson is 2 months old now. I hated his check up :( Those shots are nasty! He weighed in at 9 lbs 8 oz (5th percentile) and 24.4 inches long (70th percentile). We started out holding him all night to get him to sleep more than an hour, then moved him to the swing, then at 5 weeks he started sleeping through the night in his crib. He reverted back to the swing, and now he's back to wanting to be held all night. BUT, he's still sleeping all night so I don't mind holding him :)
