Mommy's Cafe

You know something funny? The closer it gets to us leaving Korea, the better life seems to get here. I mean, they're opening a HUGE shopping mall area right down the road. K-16 is getting a commissary. They're expanding the gym. Anyway, at this new shopping mall is a Department Store. Its like 12 stories of shopping, restaraunts, and one floor has this little amusement park for kids. We didn't go there this time, but we snapped a picture:

Ava, Morgan, Farron
Lucille
We went to a different floor that had a "Mommy's Cafe". This cafe is amazing. You pay some money, get food, drinks, and 2 hours of your kids basically being babysat while you hang out. The play area has several women attending to the kids and they just play play play. The kids get name tags and you write your number on them so they can call you if there is a problem. I THINK you can leave the cafe and actually shop, but I'm not sure.
Me, Karen, Cayla
I thought the bathrooms were cute. Miniature stalls with miniature toilets and sinks.

Jackson is 9 Months

Jackson turned 9 months on Saturday. The best way to describe Jackson is a little lover boy. He loves everyone. Anyone and everyone. He is starting to get quite the personality. He doesn't like to be left alone. He cries whenever someone leaves the room. He loves his pacifier and his blanket. He loves to laugh. He laughs at everything and his laugh is very nerdy. There's no other way to explain it but nerdy! He tries to do Patty Cake with me. He loves to eat finger foods and is very good at using his finger and thumb to pick things up (Morgan always used her whole hand to pick things up). He jabbers a lot and likes to point his finger and shake his arm at you. He scoots his bum along the floor, but he doesn't crawl yet. The poor kid is forced to play with a lot of pink toys and dolls. But he doesn't seem to mind. He still doesn't have teeth. He is completely done nursing as of this week. He loves water more than anything. The bath, the pool, he loves them both.

Just Another Day in Paradise!

Make bottle for baby
Give bottle to baby
Make lunch for 2-year-old
Get 2yo to sit down at the table (easier said than done)
Get 2yo to eat
Feed baby food to baby
Get 2yo to eat some more
Try to find something else for baby to eat because 2 jars of food wasn't enough
Make more lunch for 2yo because she's screaming for more
Make yourself lunch
Dance and sing for the kids just to see them smile and hear them laugh
Wash 2yo's hands and face
Wash baby's hands and face
Realize poop just leaked all over your shirt and pants
Change baby's diaper
at the same time hear 2yo screaming MOMMY POOPY!!!
Go to the bathroom to find 2yo holding poopy underwear
Clean up 2yo, throw underwear in cold water
Realize the laundry needs to be switched from washer to dryer
Dress baby who has been laying patiently on changing table
Dress 2yo
Get both settled down playing happily (easier said than done)
Remember the baby pooped while sitting in highchair
Strip highchair of cover and throw in washer
Change your own clothes since you DID get pooped on
Finally relax and eat cold soggy chicken sandwhich for lunch just in time to hear baby screaming because 2yo took his toy away for the millionth time today!

Most days are crazy around here! But I wouldn't change it for anything!

I've Got the Fever

...Not a real fever. Just the anxious-for-the-upcoming-change fever. We're down to 78 days. Which is only 11 weeks. That kind of sounds like a long time, but with how much stuff there is to do before we leave (and moving into a hotel 10 days before we fly out) its coming very quickly. I'm so excited to see our families and friends and for everyone to get to know our kids. I just hope that we get out of here at our scheduled time. I heard last week on the radio that the Patriot Express (which is the military flight that takes us to Seattle) was delayed a week due to maintenance. I really hope that doesn't happen to us. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I can't wait to roam the isle's of craft and fabric stores, watch my kids run and play in the grass, breathe fresh(er) air, plug my appliances into American outlets, and have wide open spaces everywhere! The time is going fast, but it can't go fast enough!

June 12, 2010

On Friday we went swimming at the Hannam Pool (its a small military housing neighborhood in Seoul). Their kiddie pool is a little deeper (about to Morgan's waist) so when I put J in his floaty his feet touched the bottom and he could walk around. Him and Morgan had a good time just floating and walking around.

I love these carts at the commissary. I love even more that Jackson is big enough to sit in them. As you can tell, he's pretty excited about it too.

Cooking and cleaning can wait for tomorrow,
For children grow up too fast much to our sorrow.
So settle down cobwebs, dust go sleep,
I'm rocking my babies and babies don't keep.

Another Day of Swimming

Today we went to Yongsan to swim with some friends in the outdoor pool. It was SO NICE!! The closest I've been to a beach in 2 years! We will definitely be doing this at least once a week.

Morgan and her new friend, Ava. They have the same swimming suit and look like they could be twins.

This kid was born to play in water. He doesn't care that he was sitting in freezing cold water getting splashed by a million kids and getting his toys taken away. He was as happy as can be.
