My Birthday Workout

Today at CrossFit the ladies did a special workout for my birthday. They are so fun and so inspiring to me!
I hit a lot of personal records today! Just in time for Fight Gone Bad this Saturday.
The goal of the Wall Ball is to hit the 10 foot mark. See where my ball is hitting, that's the 10 foot mark!! Ya baby!! The ball weighs 14 lbs.
I usually do this swing with a 20 lb dumb bell. Today, I used a 35 lb kettle bell, which is what you're supposed to use in this move.
I love running. I crave it!!
65 lbs!! I know that doesn't sound like much, but I did 65 lbs 13 times. More than ever before!

After the workout! We rocked it!
Thanks for such a great morning ladies! I love you ALL! I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday than setting personal records. I'm stronger and faster than I've ever been in my life thanks to this group of girls teaching me and pushing me to push myself!

My Baby Is 2!!

I know it may sound silly, but this birthday has been very emotional for me. I can't believe my baby boy is 2 years old already! He is so much fun and so loving. He loves dinosaurs, cars, and anything his sister has. He follows Morgan around and copies everything she dies and says. His vocabulary as more than doubled in the last 3 months. He weighs almost as much as his sister does. He is a good runner (has perfect form!) and loves to jump, run, hit, kick, wrestle and everything else a boy does.

Morgan has officially nick named him Jacks. She started calling him that one day and has ever since.

Jackson loves kisses and cuddling. He loves his fa far (pacifier) and blankie still. He is still my little baby and loves for me to wrap him in his blanket and hold him like a baby. He also loves babies and baby dolls. He's just so sweet.

Love you Jackson! You fill our lives with so much joy and hapiness.

Operation Kid Comfort

The local Armed Services YMCA makes these quilts for children of deployed soldiers. They couldn't have chosen better fabric to use!!

She was excited when she saw the princesses, but ecstatic when she realized her and her daddy were on the quilt too!

Jackson loved the sports balls.

His favorite picture was the one of Clint in front of his Blackhawks.

Remembering

I was in my junior year of highshoool. I had just walked into my French class. Mr. Isom had the news on, which was unusual. I saw the first tower standing there smoking and was wondering what the heck the World Trade Center was. I stood there watching, dumbfounded, in all my 17 years of glory, as the 2nd plane hit and for the first time I understood what it meant to love your country. The rest of the day was a scary mess. Mostly because I didn't understand what was happening and why, but also because of the looks in the eyes of my teachers. I knew it was big and I knew it was going to change things. I don't how different things would be today if we had never been attacked. Maybe I wouldn't be married to a soldier, maybe he and 2 of my brothers, along with cousins and countless friends wouldn't be 8,000 miles away from home fighting a never-ending war. But I do know that we STILL live in the land of the free! They may have taken the lives of many innocent people, but they did not take away our freedom!
"terrorist" was not in my daily vocabulary back then. I had never heard of Al Queda or the Taliban.
I remember none of my teachers taught class that day. We were all glued to the news. My psychology teacher kept saying over and over, "your lives will never be the same".
Tonight I watched "9/11 As It Happened" on tv. They basically played the news casts as they aired that day 10 years ago. The initial assumptions were that it was an air traffic control issue. Now I think we would immediately assume a terrorist attack.
It's so awful to see those towers burning and people jumping from them. My understanding now is so different than it was then. And it just makes my heart ache to watch the events unfold on tv. Even though they took place so long ago. It's like I feel the things now that I didn't know I should feel back then.

Jacks

It seems like I take TONS of pictures of Jackson lately. He's in such a cute, fun stage of life. I love him so much! He is my little Clint and keeps me smiling all the time! He is so loving and cuddly. A little Teddy bear!

It's crazy to me that kids need male attention so much. Jason just got in this weekend for R&R and my kids were glued to him. It's moments like this that make me realize just how much they really do miss their daddy.
